About the Summit

Edge World Summit 2023

The World’s #1
Edge As a Service Application Gathering

Every time, a new device connects to the Internet, a new platform is built. when we connected the PC to the Internet, the industry invented Cloud Computing to enable SaaS and social media. When we connected the smartphone to the Internet, IOS and Android enabled a new class of applications running on the phone, enabling quasi-real-time contextual and situational insights. Now the industry connects devices to the internet and enables Edge As  A Service Applications.

Mobile Applications, SaaS, and Social Media as industries are trillion-dollar-plus industries, and Edge As A Service Applications are poised to become as massive start-up opportunities will be built leveraging this new trend. Edge As a Service applications companies will be built and scaled differently than traditional SaaS and Cloud companies. KPIs for venture rounds will be different. Edge As a Service is currently taking many shapes and sizes and affecting all industries differently.

This summit gathers the community building Edge As A Service Applications and provides an interactive experience debating:

The technology stack to consider to build
Edge As A service application

The current impact and development of
Edge As A service application in different verticals

How to build and scale
Edge As A service companies

In 2023, Edge World is significantly accelerating.

With the emergence of AI platforms such as NVidia Omniverse and Generative AI, new Edge As A Service applications are emerging that will significantly reshape all industries.

The Actual Shapes of Edge

Autonomous Objects

An autonomous object is able to operate, act, or make decisions independently, without direct human intervention. They can be found in various fields such as robotics, self driving vehicles, drones. These objects are equipped with various sensors, artificial intelligence, and computational capabilities.

Intelligent Spaces

Intelligent spaces are transforming our homes, workplaces, and cities through the integration of smart devices, IoT technologies, and artificial intelligence. Intelligent spaces adapt to user behavior and preferences, while smart workplaces optimize productivity and comfort with automated systems. As technology advances, intelligent spaces will continue to shape how we interact with our environment, but careful consideration of privacy and ethical implications remains crucial.

IT and OT systems

OT systems are the backbone of many industrial processes and are responsible for managing and controlling physical devices, machinery, and industrial operations. OT systems undergo significant transformation through the convergence of information technology (IT) and operational technology. This convergence enables seamless data exchange between OT systems, Autonomous objects, Intelligent Spaces, Augmented Humans and higher-level IT systems, leading to improved efficiency, real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and enhanced decision-making.

Augmented Humans

“Augmented Humans” are individuals who enhance their natural capabilities using technological advancements or external means, like wearable devices, implants, or other enhancements. These improvements can include enhanced senses, cognition, physical strength, or specialized skills, pushing the boundaries of human potential.

Accompanying these advancements are the need for new skill sets, processes, and technologies.

In the same way, SaaS needed Cloud to scale, Digitalization 3.0 require a new infrastructure to deal with:

Low latency  •  ROI  •  Application autonomy •  Sustainability •  Data security •  Bandwidth thinning
