Shely Aronov is the CEO and co-founder of InnerPlant, an early-stage company pioneering the development of living plant sensors. She was born in Israel and graduated from Tel Aviv University before receiving an MBA from Stanford. Shely is a repeat entrepreneur having founded a clean-label hummus brand and led a $320M World Bank-funded project to build a wastewater system in Cartagena, Colombia.
Shely founded InnerPlant in 2018 to create crops that signal farmers with optical signals when they’re under stress from pathogens or a lack of water or nutrients.
InnerPlant recently announced a $16M Series A funding round led by John Deere that will support field tests of the company’s first product – InnerSoy – in 2023 and its soft launch in 2024.
