John Cowan

John Cowan is co-founder and CEO of EDJX. John is regarded as the company’s business model visionary and he is the author of the company’s overall commercial strategy, developing strategic investment relationships and go to market partnerships. John has more than 15 years experience leading early stage company strategy execution, including raising and managing venture capital, identifying and executing potential mergers and acquisitions and recruiting and developing high performance teams and advisory boards.

Prior to founding EDJX, John created 6fusion with his friend and business partner Delano Seymour. Under John’s leadership, 6fusion raised over $30M in venture capital, completed the acquisition of Markitx.com, launched a global business with WorleyParsons, and played an instrumental role in the creation of UCX, the IT industry’s first ever commodity exchange for cloud computing contracts based on 6fusion’s patent portfolio, and supported by the CME Group in Chicago. 

Mr. Cowan presently serves on the Board of Directors of 6fusion USA, Inc., Requis LLC, EDJX, Inc., and was previously a member of the Board of Managers for UCX, LLC. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, John has been a frequent industry speaker because of his expertise in the field of standardized IT metering and unit economics. He was one of the first members of Infrastructure Masons (iMasons.org), where he remains an active contributor. 

Prior to 6fusion Mr. Cowan’s tenure includes success creating new business during the period of telecommunications deregulation as well as launching new products and services globally. Throughout his career, Mr. Cowan has demonstrated a keen ability to understand how technology is evolving and how it can be applied to solve fundamental real world business problems.
