Communication Services Providers (CSP) must face a deep transformation to become a Digital Service Providers (DSP). This transformation has four fundamental pillars: Technology, Processes, and People/Culture based on the defined Business Strategy.
In this work, we focus on aspects related to technology status and challenges, including the Edge. We explore the state of disaggregation in the Telco industry, and the complications that it poses to current CSPs, mainly to those who wish to become a DSP. Afterward we will present some proposals for navigating the current scenario and introduce the notion of the Disaggregation Tolerance Level (DTL), which we understand as key in the DSPs strategy.
