Panel Session: Autonomous Edge Control for Vehicles, Drones & Robotics

Track A: Edge Application Requirements - Latency Driven
Format: Use Case Perspective

Whilst full scale Level-5 autonomous car driving is some way off,  there are nonethless a diverse range of devices, drones, vehicles and robots that are becoming increasingly automated and autonomously controlled.

  • Is edge computing  a significant factor in the potential growth of this market?
  • What is the latency requirement of these systems? What other factors might favor edge deployment?
  • How should the decision making loads be distributed between device, edge and cloud? Which decisions should be made at the edge or on device?
  • What are the factors to consider when coordinated multiple controlled devices, such as drone fleets with UTM (unmanned traffic management) systems
  • At what rate is this market developing, and in what phases will systems be deployed?
