Tell us a bit about yourself – what led you to get involved in the edge computing market?

I am a physicist interested in wave phenomena and complex systems. I research Neural and Complex Networks. After my studies in Neural Systems and Computation, I decided to start a startup to reduce the amount of data required for computing. After we noticed our outperforming capabilities in Machine Learning through the escalation in the energy requirements of Deep Neural Networks, we made the transition to an Edge Application to build an integrated solution at the hand and control of the end-user.

What is the company uniquely bringing to the edge market?

Our contribution to the edge problem comes from the fact that we started from a bottom-up approach in the simulation/real phenomena consideration from an information theory perspective and the fact that we understand our impact at the boundary of optimization and control thanks to our speed-ups. Our advisors have been and are key in crucial times bringing in know-how and vertical expertise to handle different bottlenecks of data flow in the information transmission chain. We are rare startups since we solve highly industrial control applications inspired by biology, synaptic communication, and quantum phenomena. Looking at the small, allow us to reduce energy and to be resourceful.

Tell us more about the company?

Hoursec Enhancing Computing is a startup looking for game-changing customers, visionary corporates, and smart investors that could help us to move forward with strategies to keep competitive in a highly monopolized economy. We have work organically with the support of friends who have given us the freedom to work and accelerate our research and benchmarks in an unprecedented way. This startup has been the most fulfilling experience for learning at all levels. I recommend every person to try it out without thinking about money, looking at it as expressing the unique way that every person has to solve a problem that is personal for each one. This would be the door to meet unbelievable minds and characters that are also moved by our eagerness. Hoursec has especially mastered the art of embracing damage or what is known in Japan as Kintsugi. The truth is that our product started with something like fixed, perfect pristine pottery that has been broken all the time, the accidents of time have taught us to transform and repair. By joining the broken pieces with the help of golden people has made us stronger and truly unique. Hoursec reduces computing time efficiently and accurately with delicate attention to detail.

How do you see the edge market in Europe?

The edge market is almost directly proportional to the semiconductor market with global sales of around 470 billion dollars from which Europe is not the biggest producer nor the biggest importer. However, Europe has always shaped global innovation and the edge European market has an immediate advantage in the Autonomous driving industry given that cooperative work with research institutions, corporations, and policymakers are what gives speed at the edge. We can be globally competitive with integrated solutions at the nexus of the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and Sensor Design with incorporated encryption.

How do you see the edge market developing over the next few years?

The following perspective that I can gather to give a projection of the market comes from the further envision of Hoursec’s technology since I am not an expert on economy or the market. But if a theoretical understanding of the pricing cycle for the integration of highly innovative technology at the edge will develop in the next five years following the cycle of semiconductors manufacturing and data, which as the new oil, prices will collapse for their lack of integration. Edge is the solution for the dissonant increases of computation requirements that come from Moore’s law, 10X every five years, and Machine learning 10X each year. We can be the connection between these worlds in the next wave of sensors manufacturing and incorporating a cybersecurity guarantee which is crucial for sensors and biometrics with Quantum encryption solutions at the edge.

Thanks Alexandra – Looking forward to hearing more from Hoursec at the event !
